Just the Pets is a pet-care log for Android. This page explains what the app and this website do with information. The short version: your care log lives on your phone, and we only handle data on our servers when you choose to share a household.

Who is responsible

What stays on your phone

Pets, feeding, medications, weight, notes, records and reminders are stored on your device. On the Free plan, which is for one person, this information is not sent to us.

What we process with Plus (household sharing)

If you use Plus to share a household, the app sends the care log entries and pet profiles of that household to our servers so they can be relayed to the other members' devices. This can include notes, medication details and attachments you add. The server is a relay for your household's devices; every request is limited to the household it belongs to. We also process TODO: sign-in details, for example the email address used to sign in.

We use Cloudflare to run the sync service and the family dashboard at dash.justthepets.app.TODO: confirm hosting region and data-storage location.

Notifications

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging only to tell your devices that new changes are available. These messages do not carry your care data. No other Firebase product is used.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no ad or attribution SDKs.
  • No analytics or tracking scripts, in the app or on this website.
  • No cookies on this website.
  • No AI features that read your data.
  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not put your pet or care details in logs or crash reports.

Keeping and deleting data

You can export your data at any time, on every plan. Care history is append-only: an edit is stored as a correction and a removal as a void, so the history stays complete. Leaving Plus never deletes your data. You can ask us to erase an entire household from our servers by emailingsupport@justthepets.app.TODO: describe the in-app deletion flow and the retention period for server data

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us at the address above to use them.TODO: legal review of jurisdiction-specific wording (EU/UK/US)

Children

This website

This website is static. It does not use cookies, analytics or third-party trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security and operation.

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
